Fleet Phosphosoda Colonoscopy Preperation

The information outlined below is critical, and must be followed in the strictest of manners prior to surgery.

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE ANY MOTRIN, ADVIL, ALEVE OR ASPIRIN PRODUCTS, COUMADIN OR OTHER BLOOD THINNERS, INCLUDING VITAMINE E, OR ANTI-INFLAMMATORIES FOR AT LEAST 7 DAYS PRIOR TO YOUR PROCEDURE.  TAKE TYLENOL FOR PAIN OR HEADACHES AS NEEDED. IF YOU HAVE HIGH/LOW BLOOD PRESSURE OR HAVE A HEART CONDITION... PLEASE TAKE YOUR MEDICATION THE MORNING OF YOUR COLONOSCOPY WITH A SMALL SIP OF WATER.

Purchase from any pharmacy:

1. Two 1 1/2 oz. bottles or One 3 oz. bottle of Fleet Phospho-Soda - Make sure it is the LAXATIVE and NOT the enemas.

2. One box of Dulcolax Tablets.

The Day Before Your Colonoscopy:

You will be on clear liquids until midnight. You must drink a minimum of one gallon of fluids throughout the day.

Suggested Food Groups to Consume

Food Groups Allowable Foods
Fruit Juices No Pulp: Apple Juice, White Grape Juice, Pineapple Juice, Cranberry Juice
Beverages Coffee (no milk), Tea, Carbonated beverages like Sprite or Cola, Gatorade, Power Ade, Kool-Aid, Strained Lemonade, Pedialyte
Protein Boost Breeze - Tropical Fruit flavor only
Soup Clear broth or bouillon (fat free)
Desserts/Sweets Popsicles, Fruit Flavored Ices, Flavored Gelatin Clear, Hard Candy (No Red Dye #40)
Seasoning Lemon Juice, or Honey for Tea

On the day of the Colonoscopy:

You should have nothing to eat or drink until after your colonoscopy.

Very Important: You must have someone to drive you home on the day of your procedure.
